Fowey Season Dates

Salmon : 1st April – 30th November **
Sea Trout : 1st April – 31st August **
** Note – River Fowey currently has Conservation Limits

Fowey Catch Limits

Salmon – 1 Salmon may be taken per season **
Note – Release all salmon dead or alive before June 16th and all Salmon whether dead or alive on the Looe Rivers
Release first salmon caught with the target of a 90% Catch/Release figure.
Sea Trout – 2 Sea Trout may be taken per 24 hour period **
Note – A maximum of four sea trout can be taken per week & a maximum of ten sea trout per season
Return all sea trout under 35cm (1.5lbs) & all sea trout over 55cm (4lbs)

Salmon
No worming before 16th June or after 31st August
Prawn/Shrimp permitted after 16th June on a single barbless hook.
Sea Trout & Salmon
Bait fishing: single barbless hooks only – No circle hooks
Fly & Spinning: No treble hooks
All hooks single/barbless after 31st August

Salmon – All Salmon to be returned to the river, alive or dead **
Sea Trout – Ten sea trout may be taken per season with a maximum of four sea trout per week & two in a 24 hour period.
Return all sea trout under 35cm (1.5lbs) & all sea trout over 50cm (3.5lbs)

Camel Fishing Methods

Salmon – No worming at any time
Prawn/Shrimp permitted after 16th June on a single barbless hook.
Sea Trout – Single worm on single barbless hook

Inny Catch Limits

Following the buy-off of estuary nets the Lynher Association has adopted a catch and release rate for salmon of 66%. The Club is a member of the Association and anglers are required to adhere to this figure.
